This week marks the final peak week of the third-quarter earnings season, with 72 companies reporting, bringing the grand total of reported companies up to 451. As it stands, S&P 500 growth has rebounded nicely to 2.3%, still a weak growth figure in the historical context (10 year average is 8.6%), but much better than the negative expectations that were predicted for much of the season.
